Networking

Opportunities for child networking have been provided at Vidiyal since 1997. Chandran represented Vidiyal Vaanavil working children’s forum at the consultative workshop at Kundapur, Karnataka. This led to the evolution of NMWC at the national level and Vidiyal Child Rights Movement at local level.

The children of Vidiyal Child Rights Movement have been constantly interacting with other children’s organizations and became founding members of the CR4WSF and FCMRP in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Apart from contributing to the formation of structured networking the children of Vidiyal Child Rights Movement have participated in the following arenas which widened their social network.

2005 Ramesh, Rajive Gandhi and Meher Nisha participated in the Children’s consultation for preparing the Tamilnadu Election Children’s Manifesto at Chennai – organised by CACL Tamilnadu and Pudhucherry

2005 R.Ranjith Kumar, Meenakshi and Muruganantham particiapated in the Children’s consultation at Gujarat – organised by Balsena and Shaishav

2007 Ten children participated in the Children’s Consultation on child protagonism at ECC, Bangalore. Ranjith was a one among the child facilitators which brought laurels to the Vidiyal Child Rights Movement – organised by Concerned for Working Children, Speech and ECC.

2007 Preethi and Pandithurai participated in the children’s consultation at Orissa – organized by CACL

2008 Kulandhaiammal and Jeyakumar participated in the preparation of children’s alternate report – organized by ICCW

2008 Bharath Kumar, Kulandhaiammal, Abdul Rehman and Loga Nayaki participated in the 1st Children’s National Consultation at Gujarat – organized by Balsena and Shaishav

2008 Bharath Kumar and Preethi participated in the children’s alternate report process at Tamilnadu and Bharath was elected as one of the child researchers – organized by CACL and CACT Tamilnadu.

2008 Ganesan and S.Manikandan participated in the National Youth festival at Orrissa – Organized by National Youth Development department

2009 Preethi, Ganesan, Nandhini, Abu, S.Manikandan and Kulandhaiammal participated in the International consultation on “Child Protection” at Kerala – organized by Rajgiri College
